Refugee & Humanitarian Visa

The Onshore refugee visa can be applied by those already living in Australia and wanting to apply for an asylum or protection. To be able to apply for this visa, you must satisfy the Refugee definition as set by the Refugee Convention and also meet up all the Complementary protection criteria as given in the Migration act 1958. The onshore refugee visa is popularly known as Protection visa subclass 866. With a Protection visa subclass 866 you will be allowed to stay in Australia permanently while you can work or study as well in Australia.

• Protection Visa (subclass 866)

The offshore visa Australia is a sub division of the refugee visa. With the grant of the offshore refugee visa type you will be eligible to live in Australia permanently. This visa also enables you to bring your family members with you in Australia for the purpose of permanent residence. This visa will allow your travel to and fro from Australia for a period of 5 years from the date of visa grant. You may also apply for Australian citizenship with this visa based on your eligibility. While applying for this category of refugee visa, you must be outside Australia. The different sub-categories of Offshore Refugee visa are:
